Default how long do tires last

ok, so without drifting around corners and peeling out, just under normal driving, how long should a set of tires last, i have Firestone Firehawks, 245/50r16, with about 30k miles on them and they need to be replaced...more or less curious cuz the old mans a lil t-o'ed about it...if u ask me im surprised i got 30k of of them...just wondering what you guys have to say...

look for the bumps in the tire treads..if its worn to them they need to be replaced.

or you could do some burnouts and have some fun and get new tires anyways

30,000 is usually optimal, give or take 10,000.

That sounds about right for a performance tire. I've had right around that with my Goodyears and BFGs.

Now a high mileage tire that nevers ever sees abuse (such as what I had on my truck) will get around 80,000. I had 75,000 on mine when I swapped and they still have a good 5K - 10K left.

I'd say 30k is very good, I replaced my GSC's at around 20k. I now have 14k on the Dayton Daytona ZR's and they still look like new.

I burned the stock all-seasons off in less than 9k miles because they were crappy, but my toyos have stood up to the exact same amount of abuse for 20k miles so far and still have about 5-10k left in em. Some tires just wear quicker regardless of their "treadwear" rating.
When I had my V6 I burned through tires like nothing 8k miles max...till I bought some expensive Z rated ones and couldn't peel out anymore, they were daytona Z's. ^How do they hold up to V8 power^?
