Thumbs up Another look for the Hugger SS

One thing that bothered me about the Boyd Osiris wheels I had on this 99 Hugger SS is that they looked too "modern" to me, for such a classic colored car with nostalgic design painted stripes. The Boyds are awesome wheels, but I think they would look better on just about any other color car. So, I went retro to match the car.

These are 18x10 TT2 wheels, at all four corners. 285 wide tires up front, 295 wide rear tires. All Yokohamas. The centers have been powdercoated gloss black. I think these wheels "fit" the style of the car better, I've been thinking about going with this look for a long time now. Yes, I know the TT2 wheels are played out, but the black ones seem the logical "slightly modernized" match to complete the old-school theme I was shooting for.

Here is how 18x10s with 285s fit up front. The rears with 295s look the same.

Oh yeah, another thing I forgot to mention, LOW maintenance wheels! Those Boyds are a bitch to maintain since they are polished and attract water spots from hell. The hugger is my daily driver, so it was a pain in the *** to keep polished wheels nice on it. These are powdercoated and have a clear coat on the lip, just wash-n-go

performance-wise, I only have longtube (offroad) headers and a lid. Also added the SLP center-mount exhaust system. I was going to put heads/cam/nitrous/12-bolt into this car, but I decided not to ruin it. Its such a nice clean daily-driver, I don't want to turn it into a track *****. Probably throw an X1 cam I have sitting on the shelf into it, and call it done for now.

I decided to make the Vette fast instead, as well as the drag car, as well as the '69. This one will be the mild one of the bunch.

Do a search, there are tons of pics posted of black on black wheel cars. I think black on black looks the best, here is my Vette:

Do you still have the stock springs on it? If so, the 18s fill the wheel well very nicely.

I've always liked the looks of TT2 wheels, just feel they are overused. Thats why I got black ones, there still aren't many cars out there with black ones
