Default do the bump stops have to be grinded? quick questin..

if im trying to put 17x11 zr1's on, and the bump stop is right on the tire when i raise the car but once i drop the car the bump stops look to be ok, if i hit a bump, will they hit the tire?
someone just told me that they didnt grind down there bump stop when they put 11 zr1's on and they never had any problems?

I never ground the bump stops, never had an issue.

I didn't grind the bump stop, but I trimmed the little "lip" where it mounts back. If the inside of the tire hits the bump stop, I'm OK with that, but I don't want the metal bracket where it mounts to hit. It took about an hour with a Dremel (and several re-inforced cutting discs) to do both sides.

jack the car up by the axle and you don't even have to think about the bumpstops

Never had to do mine either until I went to a 28" tire. 17x11 should not hit while on ground
