Nitto 335/30/18 Drag radials?
#2
No. That is dangerous. A 335 is ment for atleast a 12wide wheel. For a 10.5 you need a 295-305 wide. Running a 315 on a 9 or 9.5 is dangerous and so is running a 335 on a 10.5 wheel.

I'm looking at the same scenerio...I'm currently running the 315 BFG DR's on a 10.5x18 wheel which is a wider tire than the Nitto 315x17 with ZERO problems. I've been doing a little research and I'm under the impression that the Nitto 305 is actually wider than their 335...?? Don't understand that one but it was said that the contact patch (blocks) are wider on the 335's than the 305's but the tire itself is not as wide...?? Anyone know if this is true? If so than the 335's would work just fine on a 10.5 wheel as Nittos run smaller than their competitors anyway...So I'm either looking at some 335 Nittos or going back to the 315 BFG DR's on my 10.5x18 wheel...Has anybody checked into this?

I'm looking forward to running a set of these on my 18x12s in the name of traction. I currently run some michelin pilots with a tread patch of ~14 but the nittos specs are 13.6 or so but hopefully they will make that up in grip...

Again the 335/18 nittos are some meaty bastards. My former 335 pilot sports did not even bulge the sidewall on my 10.5" Z06 wheels.... Dennis, you might have to really take out the BFH if you go with the 335 nittos....
PS The handling sway etc differences from my pilot sports are minimal at best. Still handles incredibly. The only loss in handling was that my front perreli 265 P zeros cannot hold the front in a turn the way the nittos hold the rear, thus resulting in a nose push understeer condition. If i did alot of road racing Id get a set of 555R2's for the front 17" wheels.

With the tq converter I ran the BFGs and didn't spin at all.
In defense of the Nittos they were 17" versions vs the 16s on the BFGs, it was hot on the nitto day, but cool on the BFG day (did run the bfgs on a hot day and it was just as good as the cool day), also did a better job of heating the bfgs....but in the end it was an incredible differance between the 2

They are definitely not undersized like the old 17 inch 315's....!!!! I had 335 pilot sports on my z06 before and the nittos are actually slighty wider. They will work absolutely fine though despite what people say, several Z06 owners actually run 315 BFG drags on 9" front Z06 wheels and the sidewall bulge makes for a greater sidewall flex and BETTER hook...believe it or not.

Does the manufacturer recommend it? If they do then it's safe. If they don't then it's not. I don't understand all of these threads about will this tire fit. Nitto recomends a a 10.5" minimum wheel size for their 315. They take into account it runs small because most tire manuf. will recomend an 11" min. The 335/30/18 tire is min. 11.5" so you aren't going to be runnning it on a 10.5" wide wheel SAFELY.
