Default Wheel Widening Services??????

I tried to search for it but couldn't find anything...Where can I send some rims to be widened? Does anyone know of a reputable place? I know that I have seen some people on here that have widened rims so please help me. I am wanting to get 17 x 9 WS6 rims widened to 11.

Thanks
Joshua

I called WeldCraft and they quoted me 175 plus shipping a wheel. Not too bad.

Definitely give Scott or James at Weldcraft a call 734-420-2211. They are nice guys and do excellent work. Figure $175 per painted wheel and (IIRC) $200-225 per chrome wheel. Another $25 per wheel to grind down the weld beads. I'll put up a couple of screen shots of the OEM GTO wheels they did for me when I get a chance.

Quality seems excellent. Will be mounting tires and balancing next week so we'll see if there are any problems...

Dude, I was looking to do the same thing. But after checking the cost, $400 - $450, I bought some TTIIs 9.5/11 combo from TomZ for $875. Hopefully after selling my WS6 wheels for ~$400 I will have about the same $$s in them plus have new wheels. Just a thought.

Yeah I thought about the tt2s but it seems like around here that everyone and their mom has them. I have at least six friends with f bodies that have them...plus I here they are a pain to keep clean. After I get ws6 rims widened I am going to chrome them so it looks like Weld Craft is the way to go.

Finally got my wheels mounted on the car today with the adapters, etc. No balance issues or anything (I also had them road force matched on my local Discount's Hunter 9700). I took a handful of pics of the widened wheels after paint, but can't post them just yet because I don't have a digital camera. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the work that Weldcraft did. You would literally have to remove the wheels and inspect them (after Weldcraft ground the welds and I had them painted) to see that they had any work done to them at all. I cannot recommend these guys enough if you're looking to widen your wheels.

Okay, finally got some pics of the wheels that Weldcraft widened for me. FYI - these are 2005 OEM 18" GTO wheels that I had widened 1" and then repainted on the inside only.

Here are the pair of wheels as they arrived from Weldcraft:

Here is a view of the inner lip - note that I paid an additional $25 per wheel to have the visible weld beads ground down. I think they did an excellent job:

Here's the same view after paint:

And here is a shot of the inside of the wheel with tire mounted:

Nice. So I guess it was $200 a wheel including having the welds ground down?
