Default Ruff Wheels R278

Well the more that I look at these wheels, the more I like them. I just came across them and I can find a set in 19" for just above $1K which is actually below my target price range for new wheels. I was seeing if anybody had any experience/info/suggestions on these wheels.

I really like that I can get these in chrome for our bolt pattern (unlike the HPR5 ) They also have bigger lips than Jay Z.

They have a 35mm offset, I know this is a little low. I definatly have to go with a 9.5 in the back, but is it safe to go 9.5 all around? Or should I play it safe with a 8.5 up front? Ok, Ill shut up now and post some pics...

BTW, if anybody has any pics of these wheels mounted on an F body, post em up!!

Or if any of you photoshop guys could give me a mock up, that would be great! I found some of these links with some clear shots of the wheel. I have a few pics of my SS in the sig.

Nice! Where did you purchase them from? How much did you pay if you dont mind me asking? I just got quoted $1099 directly from a vendor for the 19" chrome in staggard sizes. The guy I talked to seemed like he knew what he was talking about, he recommended that I go with staggard sizes due to the offset.

BTW, I forgot to mention. I have the Wilwood setup for my front brakes. Does anybody think that I could have any clearance problems with the big brakes and these wheels? I already had this problem with the C6 wheels, but they were a 56mm offset. I would imagine that the 35mm offset would be ideal for a big brake setup, Correct?

I almost bought those before I picked up my Fikse's, there is one guy ive seen on here that has those wheels on a green colored camaro. If the searched worked Ill try to find it, but its broken. They are good looking wheels, but you'd better delete this thread before everyone starts going nuts & buying them like the Evo's. JK!

They'll clear the wilwood brake kit. They clear my Baer GT+ kit. The caliper isn't the problem it's the rotor that can cause problems. If you stay with a 13in. rotor you are cool. I went with the 279's on my bird, 18x8.5 in front and 18x9.5 in the rear. You're gonna have to shave the rear fender lip off guaranteed.

Depends on if it's lowered and what not. The guy I am buying mine from has a 99 SS, stock suspension, and is running a 295/35/18 out back on the 18x9.5 with no problem.

That's a bit to much tire (for a 9.5in. wheel) if you ask me. The Nitto 285's I'm running are pushing it...but ok. I agree with you on the lowered issue regarding the fender lip; however who puts killer wheels on a car with a stock ride height???

Someone who runs mid 6s at the strip and doesn't want to lower their car LOL.

Looks like the deal is off(for now)...guy backed out and decided to keep the wheels. So now I'm shopping around for the cheapest price for Hyperblack 279s. ****.

You can get em here http://www.need4speedmotors.com/inde...TS&Category=95 for $800 bucks (for the whole set). I was going to go with the hyperblack but instead opted for the chrome. The guys at need4speedmotors are awesome. I can't say enough about how nicely they treated me when I purchased my wheels and tires.

Just recently I had a problem with a few lug nuts so I called em up, told em my troubles and they sent me a whole new set the very next day, for free. I'm local so it help a lil bit...lol.

Here are a few pics so you can see just what they'll look like on a 4th gen fbody.

musclehead,
Quit posting them damn pictures!! you're making my pocket book cry

I've waited a long time for someone to post those exact wheels on a TransAm or Firebird.

What was the extra cost for the chrome?
