Default Wet sanding wheels

I've searched, and found a topic, but didn't want to bring it back up.

So all I have to do is get a soap and water solution (preffered soap anyone?), spray it, then use some 2000 grit paper?

How long do I do it for and how hard?

Do I rinse or wipe them after sanded/ before polishing?

And are you POSITIVE this won't scratch my wheels and it will bring back a good shine?

Should I try it on a caliper first?

1st what are the wheels you want to wet sand?

I've done all of my wheels but I have TT2s so they are just aluminum.

Clean the wheel up and make sure there isn't anything on it. You can use 2000 grit paper but depending on how bad they are you can use a more course grit paper. Just spray the wheel and the sand paper and start sanding. I don't use a lot of pressure just light. You can pretty much tell when you have done enough sanding because it will look dull. I make sure I have it looking uniform. Then I clean the wheel again to get all the dirt from wet sanding off. Once I dry it off I polish it up with a microfiber towel and mother's billet polish.

If the wheels were previously polished, don't even bother with sandpaper. Just use one of these:

with some of this white liquid rouge...

on an electric drill.

The ONLY reason you'd want to wet sand anything, is to remove blemishes prior to polishing . . . wet sanding is NOT going to make a wheel shiney . . .

my wheels didn't have any blemishes on them but regardless of how much I polished they never shined like I felt they should (I would spend hours just on one wheel). I didn't have access to a buffer or I would have just used that to polish them up. I wet sanded them and now they look better than new. I'll take a current picture today since I just wet sanded the lips and center cap. If I had thought about it I would have taken before and after pics. and a pic of what the wheel looked like just polishing it.

It made my wheels look great.
