GSDs vs KDW
What did the KDW 2s get you price wise for and what sizes did you get?
Hopefully you can get some in your size, Goodyear factory workers just came back off of strike. There are so many tires on national back order it's not even funny.KDW FTW
Anyways, its all a matter of preference for what you want out of a tire. I on the other hand, still cannot make up my mind on which tire to get!!

I think the GSD3's are great. I've never driven a car with KDW's but the Goodyears are definitely better than Bridgestone Potenzas and Michelin Pilot's.....In the rain the GSD3's really are amazing. Just expect a slightly harsher ride with these tires and try not to be too aggressive with the car until you get some heat in the tires as they are a handful when they are cold. I had KDW (not KDWS...we don't have much call for a snow tire in Houston) tires on my stock 16" rims. I loved them. Great tred design (I had the original KDW, not the KDW2 that looks like flames), excellent tread wear (aside from my poor front end alignment, which I obviously don't blame on the tires), GREAT wet traction and low noise. If BFG made a KDW in a 315/35/17, I would have bought those instead of the GS3D's.
That said, when I switched to 17x9.5/17x11 rims, I got GS3D's on all four corners. It's not exactly an apples to apples comparison, since going from a 16" rim to a 17" rim means going to a shorter sidewall (not to mention going to wider wheels and tires), but I'm in no way dissatisfied with the GS3D's. I liked the tread pattern of the KDW better, personally, but the tread design on the GS3D isn't bad either.
Like I said, if BFG made a KDW in 315/35/17, I'd be running those. Just my $0.02.

Yes the ride is slightly harsh due to the sidewall stiffness, but the cornering is excellent(wet and dry). As you approach the limits of the tire, it breaks traction very gradually, it is far from an on/off switch when cornering. I also expect to get about 25k miles out of my set.
