spare tires as skinnies?
Would it be feasible to run a pair of spare tires (donuts) on the front as skinnies? How come no one talks about doing this, is it unsafe for the track??

I would assume the donuts are too heavy to have any considerable effect. Have you ever picked one of those suckers? Feels almost the same weight as my stock wheel. The idea behind skinnies up front is to lower unsprung weight and rotating mass along with less rolling resistance. While the skinnier contact patch will decrease the rolling resistance, but the mass is almost the same so it won't change much of the first two. But if you can find them cheap, it's worth a shot. Like these guys already mentioned though, be sure to swap the tires on the donuts because they are rated at less than 60mph.

how do you figure the tire is only rated for 50mph? It says on the rim do not go over 50 when used on the rear, because the smaller diameter tire on one side will mess up the differential. I guess I would have to actually weigh one and weigh a stock rim to see how much lighter the spare is.
