That stinks. Glad you're okay. But still a bummer about the wheel.

And something like this could have happened at the track to, and it's a GOOD thing it didn't...I would definetely pursue a replacement, we are talking about the safety of you and your car on the line.

ya i dont think it matters where it happened, same thing would have happened at the track, they should replace it, and stand behind their product.

the only reason they are not street legal is becasue they are not DOT qualified. its not cuz they are weaker, if anything they are twice as strong as stock. But there warranty does state that driving on the street voids it but IMO they should stand behind the strength of their product.

I think any reasonable person would agree that custom wheels shouldn't just come apart. These are built for track abuse, it seems crazy that driving them on the street voids the warranty. I'm sure they'll set things right. Makes me nervous about those trap speeds down the end of the quarter though...

Track use and street use are two completely different scenerios and see two completely different stresses and loads.

Right now, this discussion is in vein to bring on the boards at this point as we have not seen the wheel or how it was damaged. We don't know if a weld has failed or the actual material failed, no information has been provided to us. We have not received a call. As you can see, I am very interested in learning about this issue.

For future reference ALWAYS talk to the manufacture/representative before creating threads like this as these type of posts tend to turn into bashing posts which we nor other manufactures certainly do not appretiate. This is not to conceal issues what actually occured with the wheel (we do not have the items in hand or actual first hand discussion with the driver we are all guessing right now). This is something that we have not seen before in the many years of designs until VERY recent...

We are a very fair corporation and are here to help, not hinder customers.

i dont think this will turn into a bashing thread, despite this mishap, most of us will still consider bogarts when looking for a nice drag wheel. if anybodies like me, i take testimonials as a grain of salt, i would much rather experience something myself. and an issue like this has in no way hindered the way i look at bogart wheels...

just thought i'd throw that out there, lol.

It seems to me that if you ordered them from SJM then they are very willing to help. But that seems like a major problem for the wheel to explode while airing the tire up.

Not bashing, but I was really excited when I saw a pic of the bolted D10, I would really like a set for the Buick, but I'm a little nervous now..I don't want a wheel falling apart and screwing up the sheetmetal on my GN.

sounds like a bogart reps answer to their flimsy wheels(are you a distributor?).........btw i could grab the side of the rim with my hand and bend it easily...maybe i should get my hand detuned next after learning to read a tire gauge

Our Bogart wheels have over 10 years of history!!

If this was an issue that has come up in the past years, certainly it would have been resolved. These are isolated experiences and certainly not the norm. We've got folks using them in many extreme situations and have not had these issues. We've got folks running them on the street against our recommenations and still have not had these problems.

KOS, we've not heard of your wheel mishap until now. I don't want to send blame around, what type of pressures were being used to mount the tires, was there wheel lubricant used...We certainly want to work with anyone having any problems...

Since this is something new that we have had isolated failures, it is imperative that we hear the truth of specifically tire pressures, tires used and the conditions they were used in so that we can assess the situation and rectify any opportunities. Be truthful with us and provide as much information as you can regarding when and how a wheel was damaged...you will NOT be penalized for beihg honest.

We do not want to leave ANYONE in the doghouse...please feel free to contact me personally and I can direct what is necessary to asses your particular situation and correct it!

Once again, these are very isolated issues and not a representation of our products. Unfortunitly, we generally hear about mishaps, not success stories.

Chris,

I did speak with you earlier, but have not hear back from you regarding the rest of your information, please contact me.

Steve
