Weight Difference Between A "high End" Wheels And Replicas
It Got Me Wondering How Much Heavier Is A Replica Wheel Than A Same Sized Stocker
And How Much Heavior Are Those Compared To A High End Wheel Like Fiske Or Ccw or Iforged
And What Accounts For The Whight Difference????

it changes between wheel to wheel.
for example, with the ever-popular C5 Z06 rim, the stocker is very light.
the aftermarket ones are very heavy.... so theres a HUGE diff there, enough that you feel it when you pick it up.
meanwhile the diff between the knockoff 99ish Z28 rims and actual 99z28 rims is pretty close.
with the cheap aftermarket rims, most of them are heavy.. im sure theres some cheap replica ripoff wheels that are light, but most arnt.
the primary reason for this is the way they're cast. but thats also why they're so cheap.
the weight diff between even stock wheels and high quality lightweight aftermarket wheels can be pretty significant, but once more, it changes from wheel to wheel.
i know i didnt give you any exact lbs or anything.. but its kind of a broad question.
street car wanting to look nice? no measurable change.
beginner autocrosser? probably wont see a diff.
car setup for autoX? you'll see a diff if they're really heavy.
drag racing? you'll see the diff up front... if you keep them on the rear with street tires, you wont see a diff because you're spinning anyway. lol
if its for a street car, just get whatevers pretty... if its for racing of some sort, get the appropriate wheels from a good company...
