HELP: Size of slicks and wheels!

Default HELP: Size of slicks and wheels!

Well, looking for some guidance here. First off, my car put down 470/470, and will be putting down in the 530+ range sometime in the near future. Also, I have a 3.89 gear out back.

What size slicks do I need to start looking for and will they be on a 15"x8" rim or a 15"x10" rim?

i say get yourself a 15x10 prostar or draglite with 7.5 back spacing and run a 26x10.0-15 mickey thompson ET Drag if your not running nitrous. If you are maybe step up to a 28x10.5-15 for the n2o pass, but im not sure with that gear you might get away with a bottle pass on a 26 tire before its out of gear.

thats what i ran on my car anyways, those tires get the job done. and as long as your going to do that, you might as well take some rolling mass of the front of the car by running a 15x3.5 prostar or draglite rim with a 26x4.5-15 mickey thompson ET front.

15x8 wheels are too small for the wider tires that you can easily run on your car.

If you want a direct fit wheel that is made for your car, then our Bogart wheels are for you. Our wheels have many benefits over others. Prostars or other economy series wheels are an option, ours is a better choice regarding performance and appearance. Using a set of prostars or centerlines is like leaving 50+ lbs of converted static weight on your car. Braking distances will be shorter with our wheels, handling characteristics can improve with our wheels, shorter 60 ft times etc are measurable benefits.

bogarts are all good and well if you dont drive the car on the street at all and its a full blown drag car, but if your going to do some street driving chances are bogarts will bend and or break after a short period of time. you can get a decent size tire on a 8 inch rim and run safely. I run a 315/60/15 tire on my 8 inch rims with no problems. but your better off with a 10 inch rim and bigger tire.

Have you seen any instances of bent or broken Bogarts, and, if so, under what conditions?

actually there was a thread not too long ago about several people damaging them from street driving.
