Pissed off at Weld wheels, anyone have this problem?
So I put the new 3.25" ARP wheel studs in, and have the front runners mounted on the rim, and find out the holes on the wheel are too small. Went to check the drivers side *worked on passenger side first* to find out they won't fit on that side either. So, it's not a crooked wheel stud problem, it's the problem that the holes on the wheels are too small. Has anyone had this problem? My dad and I drilled out the holes more, and it's better, but we need a bigger drill. I'm super pissed right now, as I wasted all this money on something that's supposed to fit.
I bought the 15x3.5 with a 1.75" backspacing.
EDIT: I can put the stock wheels on without a problem. There is still plenty of meat left on these 15x3.5's, so I'm just gonna drill the hole to make it bigger.

Whoa, WTF are you talking about? The holes in the rims are much larger than the studs, are you sure you got the right bolt pattern?
I've had issues getting cheap wheel lugs to go into the holes in Welds, but it wasn't the wheels fault. You got something really weird going on there. Post pics if you can.

What do you mean WTF am I talking about? I ordered a 4.75 offset from them, and they aren't fitting. Since I already mounted tires on them, I'm screwed.
I just went out and measured it......The box says 4.75, but the actual pattern is a 4.5.......They sent me the wrong bolt pattern in the right box...Now I just have to drill it out...

Yeah don't drill anything on the wheel or the lug nut will be loose in there, bad idea. The holes on the wheel should be much larger than the studs are. There are two bolt patterns on the weld wheel, make sure your on the right ones!
I just today installed the ARP 12mm x 3" wheel studs in my front end and put my new Weld skinnies on and they fit perfect.

WLD-96-54200. On Summit, it shows for the 4.5 bolt patterns. I believe a 4.5 should work on these as well...The box says 4.75.
Don't tell me a 4.5 won't fit, and I'm stuck with these now because I got the wrong ones and mounted a tire to them.

A 4.5 will not work. regardless of what the box says, you just ordered the wrong wheels so no reason to be pissed at Weld for it. You should have ordered the WLD-96-54270 . I have Draglites and they have both bolt patterns on it so they are different. Since mine has both patters on it I can see how far off they are on the 4.5" pattern. I would NOT try to drill them to make them work, just to dangerous IMO...

Yeah, I do have a reason to be pissed at Weld for it, the box is clearly marked with the WRONG bolt pattern which sent me the WRONG wheel. I ordered the 4.75 bolt pattern, but I was sent this.
When I put the order in, it was the correct part number, but now the number is showing it as a 4.5 bolt pattern.

BTW, the holes are not to small, they are off set (in closer to the center of the wheel compared to a 4.75 pattern). You know the lug nuts are supposed to fit in those holes fairly snug (no slop at all). There is really no way to drill thos holes and make it right!

Maybe I can trade someone for a set of Draglites for the front, but a Draglite/Prostar combo would be ugly.

I figured that was what happened. I'm sorry to say but you have some nice shiny new paper weights there. Once a tire is mounted to them you are dicked, it even says this on the rim. The fact that you tried to drill them (worst idea ever) just made it worse. Thats why I always check my Welds before doing anything. I've been through many many sets of welds, and had a couple damaged right out of the box. Always check and test fit first. Order some new ones and chalk it up to an expensive lesson....

Do you have your online receipt? what does it show? Are you sure you didn't accidently pick the wrong one since they are right next to each other?
Put your lug nut in the hole. if it's loose at all they won't work and Summit can't resell them like that..
I hope it works out for you, i know very frustrating though...
