Default early model c5 wheels question..

the rears which are 18x9.5..will a 285 fit on there? i have agood friend with a 99c5 and he got the chrome newer ones and hes letting me have his old ones, the alloy 5 spokes...the fronts are brand new but it needs new rears and i was just wondering if those would fit...thanks in advance..

i just read further and people have gotten away with 295s but what about a 305?

just consider the "315's dont fit on a 9.5" wheels thread" except sub the 17's for 18's, i wouldnt do the 305 unless i had a 10.5 inch wheel,

The 285 tire with an 18" x 9.5" wheel will fit. However if the rim is from a C5, then you may have some rubbing due to the offset. A spacer may remedy some of this, but I do not know if it will completely get rid of it.

i can make spacers on a lathe...in fact, im making some 1/4, and 3/8 inch spacers as we speak...
