OK, just like the topic asks. My car does about 25k miles a year, 75-80% highway (80+mph). I'm even considering putting the 2.73s back in the rear and doing a stall to compensate for acceleration. The idea of a quieter freeway ride and almost 2/3 the RPMs is very appealing from the standpoint of comfort and engine life.

This is my DD and will likely never see the track (drag or AutoX) as long as that is the case. I am interested in (in something like this order):
-Quiet ride
-Longevity
-Predictability
-Cornering Grip
-Launch Traction

My budget goal is about $600 out the door with certs from Discount. I may go $700...

I would especially value opinions from people who have
1. owned both tires
2. owned 1 or the other
3. had similar requirements and budget
4. have some DIRECT experience with the tire

If it makes a difference, I will be adding a torque arm and even more sound deadener.

Thats very specific. As far as my experience, I cant help. All the tires that I can think of are way above 600 out the door. Good luck though.

Well, I can go a bit more if needed. I'm just for something better than Kumhos but don't want to spend D3 money either. I could go $700 if it gets a much better tire. Does that help?

I am in the same boat. If you read the thread above there are some more answers. I think I am going for the bf sports because of reviews and feedback. They seem like the perfect tire for the situation. Ranked #2behind firehawk wide ovals on tire rack too and for 100 less.

Just got BFG g-force sports on my 99 T/A? today from discount. With a price match of tirerack.com I spent 688 out the door, down from the 770 they originally quoted me. So far, so good...

Falkens by all means. Im running 275 ZiEX tires on the back of my SS and they grip better then the crappy *** BFs & Eagle F1s(the eagles kicked *** for about 2mnths then went to hell) They still arent a drag radial..but for 120 a tire, cant beat that.

i have the falken 451's and there good when there warmed up but the look like they run smaller than the bfg's

Well for 600 you can get the KUMHO MX and for 700 you could get some firestone wide ovals.

I liked the mx and trying the firestone on my other fbody. I'm going to make about 25k or more out of my KUMHO MX with only 220 treadwear.

i just got 4 BF goodrich G-Force sports for $413.02 from tirerack. ill be mounting them myself i guess thats why i got them cheaper than you guys.

I put G-sports on my wife's Miata and was not overly impressed with anything except the great price. The cornering and grip was on par with the Nitto NT 450 they replaced (not as good as the KDW) and the tires as noisy new as the Nittos were after 30k. In the end, the price was what influenced my decision so I was OK with the purchase.

Co-worker has BFG g-Force Sport's on his RX-8. It's a lighter, more balanced car than an F-Body, but they seem to be a good tire for the price.

What ever you do, do not get the tires safty siped. The BFG is a better tire than any of the ones previously mentioned, Firestone, Kumo, or the Falkin. The Kumos don't ballance as well so you'll mostlikely wined with more weight needed. I have worked with all of these tires and have seen and heard good things about BFG.
