Did you wash the wheels before you started polishing? I've never had a problem getting water spots off with Mothers Billet. Maybe try some other polish thats a little more abrasive. Mothers is more fine than other polishes. What are you using to apply the polish?

take a pic and post it...i know my american racing aluminum wheels (for my old truck) had a clear coat over them when i got it new....they got stained after a while and so i sanded the clear coat off very gently and then polished them FOREVER to get them to look like new....but idk if tt's have a clear coat...so i wouldnt just go around sanding

check out my before and after pics, 2 1/2hrs of polishing and removing the screws per wheel and under a bright light up close you can still slightly see the water spots. standing off the car they look really good. I was using master formula metal gloss that i bought at NMRA in Bowling Green.

TT2s aren't clear coated I know because I've wetsanded mine plus when you polish the wheels the rag will turn black quick.

If the water is hard it will leave some stains behind on the wheels. I know our sprinklers water my car as much as the yard and I have to keep up with the pass. side wheels to keep them looking as good as the driverside. I went to Autozone and picked up some microfiber applicators and use them to polish. Try polishing a small area at a time and rub the polish in for a little longer and see if it helps. Mother's has always been my go to polish when I have a problem area. I've used a ton of polishes and Mothers is by far my favorite. You might think about putting some wax or polish on the wheels to help protect them once you get them cleaned up.

If you were here in the area I would offer to help you out

If I'm not mistaken some diluted vinegar water should break down the water spots.

Click on the Brilex Solutions banner (sponsor) and get some Heavy Metal Polish. It works better than Mothers.

Then order the Zoop-Seal stuff and seal the wheels. Especially if it is a daily-driver. That stuff lasts a couple years.

I used Gords polish on my TT2's WAAAAY better than mothers and use brindex MF towels the good ones.

It still takes a little work but the Gords cuts through that crap pretty good, Heavy metal polish is a close second. It just seems the Gords has a cutter\cleaner that takes the heavy stuff off easier.

BOTH I wouldn't touch it with anything else. I use MF even when washing wheels with the hose and car wash....

Gords will probably all of the stuff off. It's good stuff and I use it when I need some serious cleaning. It will leave some micro scratches so you still might want to follow up with Mothers to get them out if you care or feel that you need to. My neigbor swears by Heavy Metal Polish and he let me try it on my wheels but I wasn't very impressed.

I've used (I'm sure there are more but I just can't remember)

Heavy metal polish
Gords
Blue magic polish
Mother's Billet
Eagle One Nevr dull
Magic Mix polish
master formula metal gloss

most of them didn't give me the results that I was expecting and I've always gone back to Mother's. I still have some Gords and Magic mix that I use depending on what I'm working on
