I would wait for the MT if they are coming out with a 315.. Those would definitely hook.

I know what you mean, I wasnt suggesting the Sumitomos are going to hook at all. I suggested those to cruise and drive normally in, and then to mount on 16" stockers with a MT radial to really hook. This in my opinion is the best of both worlds, each combo does its job well and is relatively cheap. If you cant comprimise with changing tires all the time, either Nittos or even a 315 BFG KD would be your best options, but these still wont come close to hooking in 1st or early 2nd gear. Until then a 315 MT radial is probably the tire your really looking for.

yea...thats a good idea but id like to have the sticky street tires mounted at all times considering i never know when a good street race is gonna come along

i do plan on having a set of slicks on a dif set of rims for the track though

Good luck man. I put a set of 255/50/R16 MT ET Street radials on my car and it still didn't hook good. It did hook alot better than the 275 Nittos though. My car was making 449 to the wheels before I installed a steel driveshaft.

What have you tried as far as suspension?

Suspension is the key. Tyres alone wont solve much on a car with decent power. My first LT1 made some good power. With lca's, phb, sfc's, stb, relo brac's, ce dr struts, and 315/35/17 BFG's I may not have hooked all the time on the street but my rear end always stayed very much controlable and straight with that setup.

Im curious about the good suspension vs good tires angle.Honda Hunter said with all his mods hooking was hit or miss but stayed straight. My ist priority is 1/4 launch so straight but spinning to death still gets sub par times. The 335 doesnt seem right also or we all could widen the wheel wells put 15 inch wide tires on and no one would have traction problems. It seems the guys who hook the best on drag radials are A4.So what Im really saying is do I have to put lots of money into the suspension or just try MT ET Street bias cheaters not radials. I have an M6 that toasts the tires at a 2800 launch and never tried slipping the clutch. I just dump it.

Try slipping the clutch. If you don't have the suspension to hold the tires there's not much point in dumping the clutch and running a 3 second 60'. Drop tires to 15-20 psi, heat em up real nice, rev to around 3000, slip it out on the green. If you can't do 2.2 or better the track sucks, the car sucks, or the driver needs more practice.

I'm just speaking from expierience. I'm by no means a expert. I owned a Mustang that made 500rwhp and was impossible to keep straight. Made the car no fun to drive. With the LT1 and the suspension it wasnt that it was a hit or miss, it was the fact that so many variables come to play on the street. Road conditions, weather, etc the streets are just plain unpredictable. The one thing I could predict on the street was regardless my car always stayed straight weather it hooked or spinned. Loosing control of the rear is no fun at all. At the track the car was constant.

Edward 2.05 best 60' dumping app2700rpm. Best time 13.01 with 2.21 60' just
dumping didnt write down the rpm.
Tried various rpm and tire pressure combos. Tried easy or hard burns. I even got to run first one day right after they sprayed that sticky stuff on the track. That surprisingly caused me to go sideways after hitting 2nd.

hell, that's not bad...getting sub 2.0 on a stock suspension isn't easy. Keep it straight and hope your rear holds up! I'm playin the waiting game with mine.

So should I go for ET Street cheaters (cheapest route) normal suspension mods $$$ or try slipping the clutch which I assume is just letting up slower on the clutch while flooring the gas. 12's are just a good 60' time away and I gotta have it.
