Default Need traction on the street, tire people inside.

I've done a bit of searching, and I couldn't find what I needed. I'm looking for a tire that will help out a ton more "frumroll" I guess, since I am not going to be DDing my drag radials or heating them up on the street.

I've got BFG KDSW's in a 245 tire on stock 16" wheels for daily driving. I'm still slightly loosing control from a WOT 1-2 shift, can't go WOT until about 30mph without completely spinning.

Obviously, I'm not making a lot of power so this should be fixable, I haven't even got a chance to spray it yet but I'm sure it'll make things worse. Who knows what I need, wider tires? I'm planning on doing some 9.5" wide wheels soon, think 275's will be wide enough? What kind of street tires get the most traction?

m/t et streets or bfg g-force t/a drag radials would work great they have a 255/50/16 with a 9.7 inch width.i have the e/t streets on my car at 25psi on the street with 330rwh i put the car to the floor at a dead stop and just get a squeal out of the tires.

My MT ET Streets would not break loose with full bolt ons, open headers, 300lb diet and a 4400 stall. I mean ZERO tire spin, even after 3000 miles they were still grabbing the ground. Best tire for the street in dry conditions...rain..you better ride a bike or stay under 20mph.

Thanks guys, but aren't ET streets Drag Radials? I was looking for something I could put some miles on (nittos at the very least) as in a street tire, tires that I daily drive. Maybe something pretty wide but still something that can hook. If I can't go WOT in first gear at all with 320-330rwhp I think I'm in trouble

Get an 11" rear wheel and run a 315 Nitto DR if you want the best mileage/traction compromise.

Get the KDW's which are the "flame" pattern. I have them on mine and love them.

Best advice so far.You will still spin these but not nearly as bad.

Good quastion B.W. I was wondering about that too. So which one of these tires you guys offered will work in the rain? Also does anyone have a link to a photo tutorial how to fit 315 in the back?

I would get a wider wheel to fit more rubber back there, I have problems hooking in first but thats understandable with a street tire on a h/c car. My bfg gforce kd hooks up from 2nd on. It would prolly work great for you and you would get many more miles out of them rather than a DR.

the 315 nittos are great but the only thing you need to be careful of is hydroplaning in the rain...i used to run 275 nittos and they hooked no prob on the street and the track
got decent mileage out of them, the 315's were just as good but liked to wander in the rain

Nitto drag radials are the best combination of tread life and traction for regular street use. I only get 5-7k miles out of mine, but that's no highway miles and driving aggressively.... All things considered, that's pretty good IMO.

I have M/T ET Street Radials now. Their traction is awsome...don't expect them to last very long though...
