I've tried both, and for straight-line traction M/T hooks up much better
They are also really nice on the highway/interstate. I even got caught in the rain once with them on, and I didn't any problems with sliding around going 60-65 mph

I'm running M/T's on my stock size Z06 (2001 WS6) I have taken it to the strip but, dont do burnout cause I'm still using 10bolt . M/T work great on dry pavement it be strip or street I dont have a problem with them.....

Never tried the M/Ts but have the hoosiers on right now. They hook very well even on the street. I've heard they both hook about the same though. I love the looks of the hoosiers as well but I'm thinking of going to the M/Ts because at least it looks like they have some treads. The cops don't like the hoosiers at all because they look just like a slick. Every time I get pulled over(usually for nothing) the cops tell me I can't drive on the street with slicks and that they could have the car towed. I try to explain they are dot approved and they don't give a ****. So for street driving the hoosiers are not your best all around choice.

Haven't tried the Hoosiers but I know you can't go wrong with the MTs. I have them and they hook like crazy if launched properly at the track. I've run 11.555@120.89 with a 1.652 60' with my current setup in an M6. Tires were 255/50/16 on stock Z28 rims. I've lifted the front tires off the ground and my front wheels are 17x9 ZR1s which are the heaviest wheels to come on the 4th gens.
