I am sure he did. As far as ZR1 wheels go, the 50mm offset is the one that tugs the wheels in closest. The 36mm offset would be further out and he wouldn't have to do near as much hammering.

Pretty much had to, since I am lowered. Like Xx01CamaroZ28xX said, they are some WIDE *** tires. Everytime I would make a turn or hit a bump, they would hit on the fender lips, but no more problems!

Sumis!!! Oh well...at that price...I suppose you can't go wrong, even if they only last 5k miles.

How long do the Sumitimos last? My front GS-D3s have over 30k on them and probably have a good 5k left, and I have not been nice to them. It's all about keeping the correct pressure!

A buddy of mine has gotten 10k on 1 set and 18k on another set of Sumi's, I guess it just depends on how you drive....

Finally got the rims and tires on today and everything fit perfectly. The 315's in the rear don't rub on anything of coarse cuz i have the sumitomo's. Didn't feel like waiting for the GS-D3's in my size to get back in from being on backorder. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Yea i know they are the widest tire out there.

Im getting my GSD-3's from UPS today. I hope I wont have to roll the fenders. I see that some people have to, and some can get away without rolling them.

Well, I had some tire slicing problems with the Yokos for quite some time. Then I got an UMI Double adjustable rod ended panhard bar, and my buddy Jon dialed my rear end in, never had any more slicing problems since. The KD that I have on there now are probably with a few tenths of what your GS D3's will be, so, if you don't already have one, you might want to look into a panhard bar.

Are you lowered? My car is at stock height, but still sits an inch lower in the back than my buddys 99 Z28 which is also stock as far as suspension goes. The 1" lowering from the factory must have been a no cost option in 98

Either way, if you're not lowered, and don't have a panhard bar, then that might be the ticket to avoid having to roll the lips.

YESSS!

At least there is some faith. I got the tires today and they are HUGE.

I am at stock ride height and still have the stock panhard rod so hopefully all will be well.

Thanks for the input.

Uhm....well, in that case, the solution would be to get an adjustable panhard rod to center your rear end properly, coz that's what keeps the tires from getting sliced.

And yeah...the tires always look huge when the UPS guy brings them, but our cars always manage to make them look "smallish"

So if you got some slicing and dicing going on...call up UMI and get the double adjustable rod ended panhard bar...it worked wonders for me!

I don't know why people are so afraid of rolling their fenders. It's not hard, people. Rent a roller and a heat gun and set aside about an hour and do it. It's better than having your sidewall sliced open on a big bump.

And I just had to post to represent blue cars with 315/35/17's!
