Guess I'll be a guinea pig (updated w/ new pics)
I ordered these Vredestien ultrac sessanta tires in 275's and 315's. I'm pretty impressed with them visually and the 315's seem wide. The section width is 12.8" I'm hoping to get them mounted on my new black TTM's tomorrow.
I was looking at sumitomos and got scared away from them just from the things I've read on here. I really like the fact that they have a rim protector on them too.
***********************update********************* ***
New wheels and tires are now on. I forgot to take a pic of the section width when they were mounted but they did slim down a little. but I'm ok with that.
They ride nice, corner nice and best of all hook pretty good for a street tire. I'd rank them with the KD's I had as far as traction goes. Overall I'm very pleased with them and very glad I didn't get sumitomo's.

Italian tires....that usually equals really complicated names!
Really....12.8" section width...that's pretty wide. I just got my BFG KD today and they measured an even 13!
How much did those set you back? Interesting thread design for sure!

Well crap, I took them to a local tire chain to get them mounted. They did the fronts but said they couldn't get the rear tires on the rim. They were afraid to do the 315's because they may tear the tire or bend the rim from putting too much pressure on it. The good part was that they didn't charge me anything for the fronts because they couldn't get the backs done.
I ended up taking the 315's to a custom wheels shop and they said they could do it but not till tomorrow.

Most good tires have those, it's like a little lip that extends out close to the rim itself and is raised up, so if you scrape something, it will scrape the tire, not the wheel.
Take a look at the close up pictures at the tire rack. Good Year GS-D3, Yokohama AVS Sport, BFG KD, they all have them, just to name a few.

Im glad someone finally bought them to try out.
They look damn good and i was thinking about getting them myself. Im 99% im going to go with some Goodyear GSD3's instead.
When you get them mounted can you take a pic of the inflated 315's with a ruler measuring the section width?
Thanks.

are you sure the tyres are not directional? I mean that you must install them where the tread should be at the recommended way not in any way desired ...... I don`t know but your rear right tyre I think shoud be reversed so the pattern will change (the outer side should be the inned side wall of the tyre) .... and even if they`re non directional the way I suggest is better looking in my opinion but I wrote this because mostly tyres with tread patterns like that (V`s or only few deep grooves) are directional.
can`t see the right side fronts..... nice looking car rims and tyres

They are not directional. They appear that they would be but they aren't.
Besides, the inside of the tires say INNER SIDE really large
Thanks for the compliments

I am gonna have to agree here. The way the thread looks, the tires should be directional and positional, just like the BFG KD. You would think that the big groove would be on the same side on both sides of the car the way you have it, but that the rest of the thread would also go in the same direction on both sides.
I'd check, I bet there is a left and a right tire.
