I know most of you are thinking Im asking about the rear tires, but Ive already decided on 315s which Ive had for several months now on the back. My issue is with the front. I have CCW classic 17x10.5 tires in the front, and as of now they are mounted with balding 275/40/17 falken 512s. The tires, quite honestly look retarded on that large of a rim, so Im wondering about stepping it up a few sizes, just not sure how far to go. I have GSD3s on the back, which i love, but i really dont think i would be able to fit those 13 inch monsters out in front, so if i was to go with a 315 in the front, I would have to run a more traditionally sized 315 like the dunlop or the HRZII. I was thinking that if i wanted to keep the tires the same in the front I should go with a 285/40/17 GSD3, which should be a great tire for this sized rim, scince the GSD3s run wide, but im worried that the sidewall might be too large in relation to the 315s in the rear. which route should I go? thanks

you really wont notice the difference between the front and rear,but it will be slightly taller. (less than half an inch if my calculation are correct), plus theyd be alot easier to get ahold of then a 275/40/17 GSD3. try it out and see how it is or run a different 315 for the run other than the GSD3

a 285/40/17 tire: the side wall is 40% of 185 equalling: 114
a 315/35/17 tire: the side wall is 35% of 315 equalling: 110.25

In other words, you will notice a difference.
