Those are really sharp! I have never seen an F-bod with those. They look sweet, and that car will certainly turn heads.

Sorry Andy...but I don't like them. They are too "busy" for me tastes. They're your new shoes though. I sure hope they run fast! Congrats! It would take a LOT to make that car look anything less than spectacular.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I am very happy with how the tire and wheel fill the wheel well out, I was worried with the rather small offset FIKSE quoted but he assured me it would be right, and it is!

Andy, so I guess the secret is out! Ha Ha They look very nice on your car with the GS stripes on the fenders.

That is the exact wheel sizes I ordered for my car. What is the offsets on yor wheels again? I plan on running the same tire sizes in the rear so could you please give us a pic from along side the quater panel to view how the rear tires sit within the wheel well?

I have heard nothing but rave reviews about the Kumho MX tires are have been seriously considering them as they have the sizes I want for my wheels. How is the ride and handeling with them? How about traction so far?

The only problem I have been having against purchasing them is the UGLY side walls with the little leaf like shapes and big azz KUMHO on them. What are your thoughts on that? I realize the 18" wheels and small side wall will minimize what you see, but are you happy with the sidewalls? Can you snap a pic where the lighting shows the sidewalls clearly. That would be great!

Here ya go Greg. 18" Z06 w/Kumho MX I like them a lot. Little more road noise and harder ride. I went from 16's to 18's though.

To answer your questions Greg,

The wheels (as FIKSE) told me have 38mm offset both front and rear. I was worried at first since that was such a dramatic difference from OEM. He told me the Berger actually has 37mm offset. The wheels fit in the wheel wells perfectly, The tire is basically flush with the outside surface of the body.

I will try to get you some pic's via e-mail shortly.

Kumho's had received a fantaistic review from Tire Rack. I had 275/35YR18 and 295/35YR18 Michelin Pilot Sports, also great tires, but damned expensive and I did not want to by the same tires and or reuse the ones I had. So you are very limited in those sizes. I felt Kumho was the best bang for the buck! Side walls are a little busy but no worse than my Michelins. Ride, I feel is quieter and softer than with the Michelins. All in all I am happy with them. The pattern looks like flames to me.

Nice job with the wheels. You have one of the nicest Red SS's I have ever laid eyes on. You will like the Kumhos for everyday driving, however, they are less than desirable at the track in terms of traction. Congrats!

They look good, but ya should've gotten the split 5 spoke (I think they're Profil 5S). Those would've been sweet, imo. But still, not a bad lookin wheel

Thanks a bunch for the input on the MX tires Andy, and the pic from the Texan. It helps a lot to hear you opinions on the tires comapred to the Pilot Sports or the BFG KD series as I have been considering purchasing them because the 18" 275 (265 for the BFG's) and 295 series tires are not made by many companies as you well know. The great reviews by the guys on the Corvette Forum is what put the MX on my list to look at too, but I wasn't sure about the goofy sidewall.

From the pics I have seen the MX sidewalls look awefull in 16", a little better in 17" but still not acceptable, and after looking at the pic from the Toxic Texan I can say the 18" don't look to bad after all. Just as I has thought (or maybe I should say hoped) the pattern looks much nicer as the sidewall gets smaller. They look to be about as busy as the Pilots of the GY F1's I have on there now. The serrations (unlike the smooth sidewall of the BFG KD/KDW's) are not my favorite look but I could live with them after seeing the 18" pic. On the 16" tires the flames look more like Partridge Family birds to me and I definately don't want that! Ha Ha

Here is a comparison of the MX in a 16", 17", and 18" to show you what I am talking about.
16"

17"

18"

I would love to see the side view shots of your car when you get a chance th take them. I ordered 18 x 9.5 +49mm front and 18 x 10.5 +44 rear wheels for my car. This will push the front wheels out 1/4" more that stock 17" SS wheels and the outside edge of the rear wheels will sit in the same place as the Grand Sport 17 x 11's with the +50mm offset. This means the my wheels will tuck in an extra 1/4" in the rear than your 10.5" +38mm's do.

Since My car is a little lower than yours I didn't go as aggressive with the rear offset so I can roll the rear fender lip if I have to for clearance. I think with the 38mm offset the fender rolling wouldn't be an option for me. But at your ride height I think it would be perfect just as the pics above show above.

I have not been a big fan of the GS fender stripes on Camaros but some how they look sweet with your new choice in wheels. Hard to explain I guess.

Thanks for your help, Greg

(P.S. Sorry for hijacking your post!) And what does it take on this new board to enable Graemlins?

I like those a lot better then the Z06 wheels. I think your car looks 'european' if you know what I mean.

Well you've done it again. Taken 18" wheels which often look a little over the top, and done them in a way that looks great. The extra width on the rim around the spokes takes that ricey look away and the wheels fill out the wells nicely - nice job!

The wheels themselves looks really good (they better for that price ) But I really don't think they match the car that well. Oh well, all that matters is you like it so...
