how many miles DD nittos??
I'm in the market for some new tires, and I'm just wondering how far you can run your nitto's on the street..i know they go farther than the other DR's but how far?? I have nittos now, but they are mounted on some old wagon wheels and havent ever been DD...I'm wondering about the 315's BWT altough i doubt it makes a difference

doesnt make a difference and i got about 9k without burnouts until they were down to the wear bars.. however, they only ran down to the wear bars in the middle so they prob could have lasted maybe 2k more if i lowered tire pressure.. I ran the nittos at 29psi which is what i usually run street tires.. When i had them down at 22 they hooked better but it wasnt suitable for normal driving, sacrificed handling and were bumpy as hell.
btw these were 305/35/18s which are a 26.5 inch tire..

I've got 1300 on mine. Just took them off today and put my D3's back on till fall. Running them at 27psi cold and they seem to be wearing pretty evenly. They've seen one track day with about 4 good burnouts besides the street driving. From the remaining tread it looks like they'll last 6-8K miles.

I drove mine with a 4400 stall and a TRex for over a year and a half. Saw the track three times....(raced on pro stars) I had them on before the cam as well, same set since December 2005 and I have over 20,000 miles on them....they are fine, and I would crash through a puddle in them right now. But I am replacing them with Toyo RA-1s. I would say I have another 3,000-5,000 miles left in them if I didn't go to the track.
I hated them for traction, they really weren't any better than a street tire, and they felt sloppy when I would turn too hard. That is why I went with the better tire, they may last less, but this is a weekend car now, so I don't care so much. My converter hits the tires too hard to work with a small sidewall radial tire. I was, however, able to get a 1.71, but that was hard to duplicate.
Buy them, they make a great street tire.

I've had mine for about 7k so far, I have several trips to the track and burned them appropriately. They are starting to wear the center area like everyone says, I figure another 2k or so, being gentle at the next track event..

depends on how you drive and how oftten you race. My first set went in 2500 miles and the second set lasted 12K. The third set (going on 9K) were still on the car when i got rid of it but they were on their last few passes. (No more sticky). Thats why i like em' you will know when they loose their sticky and have to be replaced immediately.
So i'd say 8-10K average, if you are not too active in racing.

Drove all summer on nitto Dr's, went to the track every week and the z28 is also my daily driver. Still looks like there is another year at least in them. I would say I put 3,000 miles on them in the daily driving and around 100 times down the track. Lately I have been really heating them up to get them to stick, so wear might start faster. Also, unless heated, they do not get better traction than street tires and have to watch out in rain.
