In a panic, I ordered a set of Pirellis from a local tire place. They were 275/35/18 P6 all seasons. Rather than calling me and telling me they couldnt get those in, they instead just ordered me a set of Nexen N3000 series tires in the same size. They told me that they are a more expensive tire, but all of the prices I am finding online are cheaper than the Pirellis. I am searching for the retail price because if it is less than the Pirelli, I am going to go in there and raise hell. Has anyone ever heard of these and are they any good? The Pirellis were the P6 all seasons and they were V rated (I wasnt even thinking). These Nexens are Y rated, so I guess at least in one respect they are an upgrade. What do you think, am I getting ripped off?

If they are indeed a better tire... and they are giving them to you for the same price as the Pirelli's what would be the problem? I'd raise hell if they still try to sell them to you for a higher price, or if you can get the Nexens for cheaper somewhere else ask them if they will match price. If not tell them to forget about it.

Cancel the order. I wouldn't do business with a company that assumed a different "whatever" would be ok with it's customer without asking.

I blew out two of my tires Friday night. Long story, but it was an extremely stressful night and I wasnt very focused on ordering tires. I have been carless all week and will be until Monday. The tires are already paid for, and I have to have them to have my car, which is why im not canceling the order. I am hoping i can get them to throw in an alignment or something if the tires are worth less than the pirellis, but I cant find the retail price for either. On ebay, the Nexens are going for less than the Pirellis though.

lol, i would if i could. it is a bit complicated, but the tires are on my mom's credit card and she is 2 hours away. The real question is, are the tires I am getting worse than the Pirellis? If so, I am going to raise hell.

I'd get my money back. Have your mom call her credit card company and dispute the bill as she didn't get the Pirellis as you ordered, that is if they won't stop charges first. Those are a "no name" inexpensive alternative tire. Kind of like my Riken Raptors.

take charge. I wouldnt pay 730 for those. They are prob going to also overcharge you to mount and balance too.

went and price shopped, then I went and bitched and got mounting, balancing, and a free alignment thrown in. I guess I can deal with it.

they are there, I havent yet but I will monday. I really dont see a prob with them. The pirelli's arent z-rated. There was a long explanation that lead to the misorder, but in the end, the pirellis are much more expensive than the nexens, and I still managed to get a free alignment out of the deal so I guess it will be ok.
