Default Before and After Wheel Polishing Pics

The past two days I have been cleaning and polishing my CCW wheels. I also ended up switching out all the crappy bolts and nuts used on the track version wheels for some nicer socket head stainless steel bolts and nuts.

I tried using tripoli and white rouge compound on a buff and three different types of polishes all on different buffing wheels. I have no clue how professional polishers do it but I couldn't get the buff and compounds to work for crap. I ended up using a powerball and mothers billet polish and these are the end results.

I'm still not absolutely thrilled with the results and I know its not good going to look good very long because of crappy Houston weather.

The plan is to powdercoat the centers and inner barrel black and chrome the lip since these are three piece wheels and I can easily take them apart. I would get the centers and lip chrome but the cheapest quote has been $800 .

It really is frustrating when polishing my CCWs too...I can remember what they looked like new, but there just doesn't seem to be enough polishing that can be done to ever get them back to that point. With that being said, the faces of your wheels look awesome!

The wheels look a lot better. What's the difference between the race and the street versions of those wheels?

Wow! You did a badass job! I really got tired of polishing my CCW's so I just said screw it and took the plunge to have them chromed.

Track versions have cheaper standard bolts and nuts and they do not accept the centercap that comes on the stree version.

I'm going to do that within the next month or so. I'm waiting for my powdercoating hook up to tell me when to bring the centers and barrels to get pc'd then the lips will be chromed. Polishing sux!

Dope,

Looking good bro. Still couldn't make the rouge and buffing wheel work? Either way, they look a hell of a lot better.

Good job!

I know it's expensive to chrome the whole wheel, but damn they look so good now. I'm sure they'll look good in black too but it just seems to me like all you see now on white cars is black centered wheels.

I may chrome the center too it's just alot of cash when I can get them PC'd for pennies. Plus if something hits the chrome that crap is going to flake and I will have to pay again to rechrome.

I think it will probably either dull the shine or maybe yellow after some time. I could be wrong though. I'll look into it.
