Default wrong offsets? wheels are different!

hi all...my first post but have followed this website ever since i've had my TA
ok i got a pair of 17x11 TTIIs and was test fitting them on the car
one of the 17x11s has more of a deep dish than the other
when i test fit each one in the same place, one fit much better with way more clearance!
so what is my problem here?
different offsets?
i called tomzwheels and the guy on the phone basically said NOTHING to me and said they have to call american racing to find out what the problem is!!!???

i measured the wheels from the hub while they were upside down and the one with the deeper dish is shorter from the hub to the edge of the wheel.
does this mean that it is a different offset for sure?
the man on the phone said they cant be a different offset because the bolt pattern would be different?
please help

Sounds like its a diff offset...

IMO, send a PM to TomZ on the board and talk with him. If his CS rep said they had to talk with American Racing about it, then that may be the case...TomZ is just the middle man in this case, not the manufacturer. But you may have just been sent the wrong rim...who knows.

TomZ is standup tho and should set you straight. As painful as it is, Im sure he'll get it worked out for ya.

In the meantime tho, I'd testfit both rims on both sides of the car. For whatever reason, you never know - it may fit on the driver side and not the passenger

thanks for the help
i test fit the wheels on both sides and its the same problem on both sides
one wheel clearly has a deeper dish than the other but both have exactly the same overall width

im thinking its best to send both of the 17x11 wheels back in exchange for the correct ones
that way i dont send back the wrong one and end up with the wrong wheels again

Are there any "specifications" about the wheels on the boxes (if you can remember which one came from which box)

11" wide TT2's for F-Cars really only come with one "setup":

93-on Camaro/Firebird

Model #: 505-71163
Size: 17"x11"
Offset: 45mm
Backspcing: 7 3/4"
Bolt Pattern: 5-4 3/4"

(information direct from AR's website)
