Default 275/50R15 on 7" rim

Hey guys,

I have a set of Cragar SS 15x7 wheels. I'm just wondering, can I fit 275/50R15 BFG drag radials on them? I've heard some say you can, some say you can't. I'll be using these wheels/tires for a DD as well as drag racing. In the Jegs magazine the suggested rim size for that tire is 7-11". I know these wheels are probably too skinny, but I'd really rather run 275s than 235s. I hope you guys can help me!

NO WAY. It isn't even safe to put a 275 on our stock 8" wide rims.

Agreed 275s on an 8" doesn't work well. The sidewall will bulge out alot. This will make the tire roll alot, making it unsafe to drive(especially if you ever need to turn), and bad for the tire itself. Plus it will look funny---->like you put to big a tire on too small a rim...

Get some 10" cragars if you want the wider tire....you will be glad you did!

Man I wish I could get wider cragars...but I got these 4 in PERFECT condition off a buddy of mine for 150 bucks...I think it's a pretty damn good deal. I have wide rims, some 10" centerline drags, but I really want the cragar look. I guess I'll just have to settle with 235s. My car isn't fast enough for them not to hook Thanks for your responses guys!!

There is a MT DR in 255/60 15 its a 27" tall tire though but is listed as fitting a 7-9" rim.
