Question P275/40R17 Nitto's on an 11" rim???

I have the chance to get some free Nitto Drag radials in a P275/40R17 size. I researched the size and they will fit a 9-11" rim, but will they be too stretched with my TTII's?

I am only going to be using them for the track, and them switching them back out with my everyday street tires.

Thanks for your help ahead of time!!

I think a 275 nitto would be about stretched to it's absolute limit on an 11" rim. Probably wouldn't work too well.

The reaon I am asking is because I just wanted to use them for track days...I could give a f*@k less if they look like crap on track days, as long as they will work. I would put them on for track days, and swap back to my everyday street tires the next day. Any more suggestions??

I understand that their free but I wouldn't mount them. Just get them sell them to someone and get money off of them or just mount them on some 17 inch stockers

Nitto's run skinny so no i wouldnt do it! just find you some stock 17's to put them on! To give you an idea how skinny they run you can run nitto 315's on stock 17x9.5's! I have seen a few people do with with no problems! But dont ever do it with any other tires!

Sadly, I didn't get my Nitto 275/40/17 Drag Radials free...and FWIW they look almost silly on my 9.5" wide wheels...My Yokohama 275/40's on the front are damn near an inch wider... I want to just go ahead and get some extra wheels so I only run the mismatched widths if I'm headed to the track.

absolutly not... nittos run smaller then regular tires, you need the 315's on 11" wheels

i have nitto dr's 275-40-17's on chrome zr1 9.5's and they dont look narrow to me. i have always read on here that they run small. i had falken fk451 street tires all around brfore i put my nitto's on the back and the nittos are wider that the falkens. maybe the falkens run even smaller? i compared the falkens tho a kumho exta 712 and the kumho's look about an inch wider. i can tell a big diff when there mounted between the falkens and nittos. they seem to fill out the wheel good.

why not just buy some cheapo 17x9-9.5 wheels to mount the nittos on for track days... Then you could just swap the rear wheels/tires when you need to race instead of going to a tire shop and have to mount/dismount the tires.
