Fikse FM5 question? Hello,
I am sending my FM5s to be rehooped to the proper offset for my TA. I bought them awhile back from a board member and they turned out to be the wrong offset for 4th gens.
Anyhow I called Fikse today and they recommend
17x9.5 17x11
37mm F and 43mm R
I noticed on the sticky both those numbers are out of the acceptable range? What is the excepted offset? I will be lowered at some point..just a little. I know I shouldn't doubt the manufacturer...just double checking is all.

When I had the chrome ZR1's I they had 50mm on the rears and they tucked. The 36mm ZR1's you see with the deep lug area are the ones that stick out and are true ZR1 offset. A true ZR1 Corvette had a wider rear body to fit the wheels.
Now the fronts I had were 56mm on 17x9.5 and I thought they tucked in too much.
Now I think the stock 10 spoke SS wheels I have are 17x9's with 36mm.

I personally found the rears at 43 offset to stick out too far. You will definately need to roll the fenders if running that offset.
Front offsets are fine, but can actually pull them out some (by going down in offset numbers) some more to even out the stance or even better yet go wider in the front and get 285 or 295 tires.
But bear in mind Fikse is very conservative and wants to sell you wheels that will bolt on with out any mods like BFH to the inner wheel wells.

My 9.5" FM5's are 37 mm. And I would not change that.
My 10.5" Profils are 38 mm, and I did have to roll the pass rear quarter.
The 11" at 43 mm seems a wee bit agressive. TT2's are 46 mm. and ZR1' s are 50 mm. If Fikse can make you something between 45 and 50 mm I think they would fit very nice.
