Default Need Tire Selection opinions

Ok Folks, the F1's on my WS.6 rims are dead and its time for some new rubber.

I have been shopping Discount Tires and Tire Rack and checking out all the rubber for a 275/40-17 rim. I am doing tires all around. The 17" WS.6 rims will be expected to have street tires (non drag radial). I have another pair of 16" rims for a drag radial (M/T ET Street Radials).

I have used Falkens with good luck on 16" rims, I have been considering also BFG G-force T/A KDW/S, Or Nitto NT 555 Extreme perf. (non drag radial version)

All reviews can swing either way so they are basically useless for helping me get to a decision.

Anyone here have good luck with any of these tires, if so why would you recommend and are they a all-around good wet/dry tire. Mind you for the track I will use the M/T's.

Also to mention the Nitto's regular tire and Drag radial are a 5 $ diff at the moment so I am also considering DR's all the time in the back and regular NT 555's up front vs. NT555 all around. Opinions there would be appreciated.

With your mods I would go with some BFG KDW's. I have heard nothing but great reviews with hooking amazingly and that the traction you get with them is one of the best. You can go with DR's if you want nothing but good traction, but if you want a good wet/dry tire with good hooking ability I would go with either F1 GSD3's or KDW's IMO.

Ok, thanks

I should mention though is this, With in 1 yr the car will get a D1 procharger or a APS TT kit, Granted with this power I would think most would say Drag radial or bust. But just so I can mention power level is currently around 330/340 and expect in the future 475/500 rwhp....

Nice, Twin Turbo would be pretty sick. Even with either one of those you can still run street tires just as long as you dont gas it at every stop light and you take it easy cause DR's + Rain= accident waiting to happen lol.

Thanks!

My old LT1 car was All motor 383 and I want a forced induction set up. If worse came to worse Vengence H/C package making 450+ would be nice too

I am going to do more research on the BFG's, thanks!

I run the BFG G-Force tires on my car. They were a really good value, and so far they have held up really well. Traction is much better than my old Goodyears, and they handle good too.

Another vote here for KDW. I "stepped up" to Eagle F1 GSD3 from the KDW and honestly don't see that they are any better. I will go back to BFG next time. Both are way better that the Eagle F1 GS I started with.
