Snow Tires Bleh

Does anyone know the specs for a tire size for a 2000 firebird formula, I would figure it would be near the same with other LS1 vehicles for this year and or LS1s.. just curious. Need to put some winter tires on and not sure exactly what size/depth to get

Are they going on the 16x8 alloy stockers, or are you getting 16x7/7.5 "steelies"?? If the 16x8s use a 225/55 16 winter/snow, if the steel 16x7.5s use a 215/60 16.

Stock for your car would have been 245-50-16. Unless the formulas also got the v6 tire size which would have been extra dumb on gm's part.

Right. But he was asking for winter/SNOW tires which are NOT made in the OEM 245/50 16 size, they never were, and now that the car & tire size is dead, NEVER will be. That really does not matter though, since you want/need a narrower & higher profile tire for winter/snow/ice use.

eh i think it will be a warm winter here in maryland anyways maybe i'll just try to rough it out and take it like a champ

you can put 235/55s on those wheels.. several snow tires to choose from.

Your not going to find wide snow tires, width defeats the whole purpose of a snow tire. The wider the tire, the harder it is for the tire to "plow" through the snow. That's why wide tires suck so much *** in the snow.
