Default Best way to polish my 01 ws6 rims, pic of them inside

its not a very good pic, but this is my car, and the rims I am trying to polish.



if there is already a write up on this...my bad. But I have been searching with no good responses.

ok well they have a clearcoat on them. You will need to remove that. After you remove the clearcoat I would go over them with a 2000 grit wet sand paper and some good metal polish.

do I have to remove the clear coat, there is no other way around that. Also How do I go about removing the clear coat

You can easily remove the clearcoat with Aircraft stripper.

I tried it but it the polish never "turns black" when I rub it in, like it says on the directions.

Thats because the WS6 wheels have a clearcoat on them. They really just need basic washing with soap and water because it will not polish as well as chrome or polished aluminum.

Yep, wheel polish will get you nowhere ... but you can use polishes and waxes meant for painted surfaces and that will brighten them up a bit.

If you want to remove the clearcoat use oven cleaner.

If you want the wheel to have a more of a polished metal appearance, you must remove the clear. You cannot polish it through the clear. They will need to be re cleared, or you will need to polish them more often to keep the shine.
