actually thats incorrect. to be legal the stud must pass the diameter of the stud into the head of the lug nut. in other words on a 12mm stud it needs to pass 12mm past the face of the rim. but most techs dont check for that unless the car is putting up fairly serious e.t.

That being said lets look at a key section of the nhra rule
diameter of the stud into the head of the lug nut

Where does the head of the lug start...where it gets bigger which on must is the halfway mark. Just for the heads up.

yeah i may just run a 15x8 with 275's until the 15x10's come out or if you really want them you can go pay an extra 200$ per wheel and have someone else widen them LOL LOL LOL NA lol

about the lug nuts...do you have to run the "greg weld brand" lugs? could you run another type of shank lug? a friend of mine has these wheels ordered for his Z28 and summit says the expected ship date is in june for the lugnuts.

My lugs were just shipped out yesterday, and i should have them on thursday. I will measure the shank diameter and length to see if it compares to the welds. I would also like to get a set of locks for the wheels, so hopefully they are!

They do stick out a tad bit further than i wished they would have... The steering wheel was not centered when i took those pictures, it was turned a tad bit towards the passenger side, so that tire stick out a little more in the front. But they do stick out quite a bit.. hopefully once i get the rears and put my 28" tires on the back, they will match a little better.

So I just got my lugnuts right now when I came home from lunch and I have this to say....
THEY LOOK EXACTLY LIKE MY OLD WELD ONES!! There can't be much of a difference in between the two. I used Weld and El Cheapo Lugs on my old prostars and my buddy still has my old cheap lugs. I am going to call him tonight and see if they are the same or not.
It kinda pisses me off that they say you have to use Greg's lugs when the ones I just got from him look like any cheap shank lug I could have gotten from one of our tire dealers.
Frankly, if that is the case, I will return these to summit and spend a whooping 7.50 for all the lugs and washers from a distributor than waste 45 dollars on these!
