Default guys with MT drag radials

with a good heat up, are you getting good 60 times with these tires? I cant seem to beat a 1.97 and im at 411 rwhp/380rwtq. I seem to spin the clutch or bog. So, guys with a clutch, are you ripping good times with this tire?

you'd be better off with the et street or any other soft sidewall/bias ply tire. the mt radials are stiff sidewall and dont perform as well with the shock of the 6 speed. Though 1.97 should be doable with regular street tires, i would still try a different tire

My best 60 ft has been a 1.51 and that was spraying a few feet out in the run to try and avoid breaking the 10 bolt. Mine is an auto though. Try launching at a RPM between what makes you bog and what makes you spin.

Best I could muster was a 2.14 60', but of course track prep was non-existant!

these tires have gone 1.2's that i know of...

what is your set up???

what's your suspension like? and have you tried removing the front sway bar???
that should help if you have stock suspension.

It's all about track prep with 6 speeds.

My first time out w/ them, my best was a 1.97 as well. Granted, I had wicked wheel hop, but even launching at 3000 I was blowing them off.

Then last week (at the same track) but with far superior prep, I was bogging with 5k launches. At 5500 (and still wheel hopping) I bounced my way to a 1.67. The tires easily have a low 1.5 in them if I can resolve my suspension/hop issues.

UMI weld in relocation brackets stopped my wheel hop immediately. My wheel hop was so bad I thought the car was going to shake apart. What a difference.

Track prep and suspension are key to getting good results out of the drag radials. I do a good smokey burn out and run them at 17psi. I got a 1.53 60ft with a **** clutch. My sig pic is with the MT drag radials leaving at 5,000.

I am very similar to you setup- 408rwhp- spec 4 clutch...1.76 to 1.80's all day...minimal burnout. everyone else (with slicks) was complaining about track prep- but mine was hooking pretty good.

oh yeah- that was at 22 psi.

my best is a 1.62 on a poor prepped track, 3.42's, old Auburn 10-bolt, and wrong shock settings

Well i run the Et streets in 16s,With stock rear end and 4.10 gears the best i got so far is a 1.7 60ft ,and thats not dumping it out of the whole just easy up on the clutch till it catches them hammering the gas down so i would say its capable of 1.60 easy and better but they seem to love a nice burnout at the track plus this was my first time racing on drag radials at the track

The 17s actually hooked too good for me the last time & slowed me down a little... High 1.6 60' times, a new converter will fix that though.

When mine were brand new & I didn't heat them good enough, they would spin pretty hard.
