Default How bad would would it hurt me to Drive on Drag wheels

Guys i know alot of ppl ask this question but i was very close to getting soem Prostarts today for my car.I think nothing looks better than a nice drag wheel with a big fat tire for the back of a Fbody,I want a set badley but here is my dilema i drive my car daily i put about 10-15 miles a day on my car just to work

i never really drive my car any distance just to work ,track and town.would it be a idiotic move for me to get a set .If it wouldnt help me out then guys what sizes should i go with i know handling would suffer from the smaller tire in the front but couldnt i go a with a SLIGHTLY wider tire for a 15 inch drag wheel .I race my car alot on the weekends so i know some slicks and skinnies would pick me up at the track at least a 10th.but im just worried i would be Highly unsafe but i honestly dont like any wheels as much as them im tired of the TT2s,c5s zr1s,

I don't think it would be that bad. I would worry more about wearing out the DR's if you ran the slicks and skins all the time. Probably also got to think about taking bumps and RR tracks with the skinny fronts. As far as not being safe..........you just have to think about what kind of wheels you are on. Realize you have to drive slow in the rain.

I know several people that have daily driven their cars for years with drag wheels. I say go for it.

I got mine a couple of months ago and drive around on them all the time. The car isnt a daily driver and i dont drive in the rain or anything. I run some 325/50/15 drag radials and they hook like crazy. way better than the 315/35/17 bfg dr's i had. i just noticed the handling is a little sloppier from the taller sidewalls. the rims are softer so i dont take any railroad tracks fast and watch for potholes.

Just be careful of rain, stopping distance, and cornering hard. Other than that you'll be fine.

IMO I wouldnt do it. I was running prostars on my third gen. 15x6 up front with a 215/65/15 tire. I hit a pot hole and it broke one of the wheels, replaced it, hit another pot hole about 3 months later and bent the brand new wheel

Just because he doesn't have a whole lot of mods is no reason he cant put what wheels he thinks look best on his own car. Prostars are SICK I say go for it just be aware of what your doing and enjoy!

My question was one of function, and if he just likes them because they look good then thats cool, but I don't know if thats why, and I don't think you do for sure either, hence I asked. I don't mean to sound rude, but your guess as to why he has them on there doesn't answer my question, don't go assuming I'm telling anyone what to put on any car.

I was running prostars on a catback only 305 third gen. Drag wheels give almost every car a more aggressive look

Just ordered my Centerline Convo Pros, 15x4 for the front and 15x7.5 for the back. Also ordered a set of M/T Sportsmans for the front, 26x7.5, and running M/T drag radials on the back. I'll be running these year round, people seem to have better luck then with the Prostars.

I put drag wheels on my Formula in 2001, and it had 25,000 miles on it at the time. Now it's at 42,000. I went from Draglites to Pro Stars to Bogarts. Never broke one.
