Can I use a 285/40/17 tire???

Can I use a 285/40/17 tire??? I'm looking at BFG G-force KDWs, and I noticed that they sell a 285/40/17. I know that there is no way I could fit them up front on stock wheels with stock back spacing considering the 275/40/17 almost rubs when fully turned, but what about out back? I have stock WS6 17X9s.
I used to run a 245/50/16 front and 255/50/16 back on my old Formula with 16X8s and I really liked the way that combo looked. I'd like to go slightly bigger on these 17X9s if it will fit, but I don't want anything to rub.
Has anyone tried a 285/40/17 on stock backspacing 17X9s out back?

I'm running 285/40-17 BFG G-Force KDW's on my stock 17x9 WS6 rims right now... They fit perfectly and don't rub at all!
I ask because I was wondering if mixing a 275 front and 285 rear would cause the ABS to freak out for any reason due to the difference in sizes, but I highly doubt the the 285 would fit up front anyway on stock wheels...

Re: Can I use a 285/40/17 tire??? I run a 285/40/17 in back and a 255/40/17 in front with no abs issues. I do have issues with the slick's and skinny's on but who cars it's all good on the street with the 285's

Y do u need wider you dont have enough power for the spare tire on the back
