anything will be better than what you have.......but......bfg is expensive so
spending the $$$$$$ is going to be where/what you get in a tire
i hae the takdw-2's and love them......but never again for the money
good luck......i

KDW stands for Combination Wet Dry. They're made to handle in the rain and on drive pavement. The treadwear is low so they don't last long but from everyone I know that's had them they love them. I had the g-Force's on my old car and loved them and they are the step below the KDW.

I have KDW-NT's. The fronts are ready to retire (sorry about the pun!) at 34000 miles. Can be found for $179 each for 245/40/18's and as low as $199 for the 275/35/18's. See Discount tire or America's trie (same company).
My rear 275's lasted 28000 miles with some burnouts (racing). Note the 275's will require the rear fender lips to be rolled.
Great traction wet and dry and fair mileage for a performance tire IMO.

I have the KDW in a 275/40/17, and so far I've been very happy with them. Traction is good for a street tire, it has an attractive tread and a clean sidewall, and the level of road noise is very acceptable to me (this was one thing I'd heard people complain about). I just put the tires on, so I can't comment on the mileage/wear.

I also had the Firestone Wide Ovals on the car... I was happy with the performance of the tire, but they wore out fast (about 18k miles). The came the Ecsta MX... good overall tire for the money, and I got great mileage out of them. When they went out I tried the KDW just for something different, and I'm happy with the choice.

With the stock wheels and this being a daily driver here are a few to consider.

245.50.16
BFG G-force Super Sport AS:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....ticle_id=4609#
click on BFG tires in middle
click on BFG Super Sport AS
click on ride and Drive
watch and enjoy
If you want something a little stickier
goodyear F1 Gs-D3 would be a good choice in that size.

Here is a link to tires in that size:
