Default TTII Centercaps

I just wondered if anyone else had problems with screws from the centercaps backing themselves out from daily driving. If so what did you do? I thought some loctite might do the trick. However, it seems like there are so many different types of loctite what kind did yall use?

Here is the Loctite that I bought is this what you guys would use??? Is this going to do the trick?

Well I guess I didn't tell the whole story. Only one particular screw is backing out and it is on the front left wheel. Anyways anyone know what to do or which loctite to buy?

Never had that problem with my TTII's in the 5 years I've had them on.

You would want to use either the Loctite Removable Threadlocker #242 (Blue) or the Small Screw Threadlocker #222 (Blue).

I would still check them periodically any way - these are not permanent or hi temp threadlocker compounds and the wheel center will get hot after doing alot of sprited driving/braking so they might loosen up eventually.

I've had the same problem... I lost a couple of screws from this also. I spoke with someone from AR about the missing screws and they sent me a ton of extras in a box. The new ones were longer and I didn't have another problem.

I did loctite them once but the problem with that was I used the extra strength stuff and then couldn't get them out when I needed to have the wheels rebalanced. Use very little or the blue loctite (I think the weakest one is blue) and you should be ok

oh ok thanks guys. I wouldn't think the center caps would need to come off to take the wheel off. Do you think you could show the difference between the before and after screws? Like maybe taking a pics of them both up next to a ruler or measure them with a caliper or something. Btw did AR charge you for the screws? My screws and wheels came from Tom Z (excellent dealing with him btw).

hmmm....i had a problem with the screws not wanting to thread in. they were really tight, and when i would try to tighten them the hex heads on them would just round off. had to go to home depot and get some flat head 8/32 screws to replace like 6 of them that had rounded off.......

I would buy loctite that is blue in color and is stated on the bottle as removable. I believe its called loctite 242 "threadlocker". Do a search on google for it.
