Best street tire for traction & wear?
This will be for a 17" wheel, its a 6sp., i just got the car & it has the Cooper XPTs & traction is not there, i'm looking at the Nitto's, will this be a good choice?

the non drag radial nitto 555's are a good tire. i had em on a built stang(i know i suck lol)
and the car was built and they would hook really good. car went from lighting up the tires in first and second with dunlops to just giveing a few barks from the nittos.
i also heard a lot of good things about the general exclame uhp. there cheap and there rated better than tire twice as much. probly going to put a set of them on my benz. just got a set of 19's and there about the most resonable tire for the money. go to tirerack.com and read the revue's.hope this help's

Just called the tirerack, he says the Dunlop HTR23 is a very good overall tire for traction & wear, the feedback is great on these tires for traction, he will sell me a set for 222.09 too the door, there a softer compound like the UHP's but for less, he says they are a little better tire also.

When I would floor it from a 60ish roll (where it kicks down to 2nd) I would get a lil sideways

Now will the BF G-Force hold there own behind a stick? I'm mainly looking for something that will bite fairly decent at the track, my racing days on the street are long gone, so thats not really a concern, but when i hit the track, i'm wanting it too bite good (decent), there is not much done to it, but it does have some up-grades, Cat backs (high flow cats), 3" main pipe, hypertech programmer, K&N system, underdrive pulleys & some suspention/brake up-grades.

something yall have to understand is that the treadwear rating isnt all its cracked up to be...dont go off of that figure alone when looking at tires...
companys send their tires to the government for rating with the expectation of getting a minimal wear rating out of them...michelin will send some tires to the feds and say
" we expect to get this rating out of this tire and that is all you dont have to test it any further"
and thats it...
bfg is a solid tire...not to many people run the dunlops and to be honest with you he probably was telling you a cheap tire for you but a high GP tire for him...F1s IMO arent worth the money...they can wear pretty fast and become pretty hard...however they are oe on many vehicles...sooo

From all the post, it seems the BFG G-Force's are the way to go, i've always liked the BFGs, but never ran them. I don't know why this guy would try & sell me a cheaper tire just to be deceiveing, you would think he would try & sell a higher $$$ tire instead, more money in his pocket if he's on commission, he was just giving me feedback from others useing them.
