Got some new shoes!
I just picked up a set of these from another LS1 tech member, they're 18x9.5 Halibrand Grand Sports (NLA). The only problem I ran into was one rim was mislabeled and turned out to be chrome. I called Travis at Discount Tire Direct and he tried to find me another wheel (there isn't a single one left!). Even though they weren't able to find one they were very helpful, great service! Anyway, here are the three painted ones that I have mounted, I'll be refinishing the chrome one to match and then putting it on the car as well. The tires are 285/40ZR18 and fit with no problem. This was going to be a road-racing/track only car but I decided to make it street legal so the fubar'd front bumper cover will be replaced with a new stock one shortly.

Haha i was about to ask wtf is on your bumper, I remember someone on here selling those rims not too long ago. Look like mustang wheels to me, but as long as you are happy.

Copy cat! Too bad you couldn't find a gray one. I'd take that extra chrome one off your hands for a spare! I would have liked a set of gray ones for my V6.
I can't wait to get my car out and drive it again. Hopefully I'll catch you around sometime this summer.

The front bumper was a cheap experiment (the bumper cover was already cracked anyway) so I did a front breather conversion and added the spoiler and some large brake ducts. It actually works really well, my temps went down 15 degrees or so just with that change. At the time I was planning on this being a track-only car so it was a matter of form following function, but now that I plan on driving it on the street I need to smooth out the rough edges a bit. The spoiler actually didn't look too bad until I screwed it up getting the car on and off the trailer. I'm kind of surprised nobody asked about the lack of a muffler in the back though. I have a 3" downturn where the muffler should be, it sounds awesome at wide open throttle, but it's reeeaaally loud!

Yeah, I was actually thinking that if they had an extra gray one I'd just sell you the chrome one cheap for a spare!

Yeah...I saw that post at night and by the time I got home from work at 9:30am they were sold out already. I had paid $100 a wheel for my chrome ones on sale last year.

I paid more than that, but the guy that sold them to me had planned to keep them, and his price was still very fair. I have no complaints about what I paid for them.
I almost pulled the trigger earlier on when they were still in stock, I wish I would have done it back then, but oh well.
Wade, you definitely have to let me know if you're going down to the dairy ranch this summer and I'll meet you down there. I usually make it down there pretty often since my dad and his buddy and my brother come down quite a bit too. Hopefully I will have my car ready by the end of next month, I have a lot of work to do, complete drivetrain swap, front suspension upgrades, change over to C5 Z06 brakes and install a different rear end, then fabricate custom mounts for my racing seats...it's going to be a busy 5-6 weeks.

Nice wheels. Don't listen to the haters. I wouldn't put them on my car, but then again I Don't spend money on bling mods so I wouldn't put CCWs on my TA either. BTW (the trans-am overlays are cheap, so don't poke fun!)

Speedy,
I sent you a PM. I would be interested in your wheels. I ended up with one chrome on that was labeled wrong, and I would rather buy another set and sell my spare chrome one to Get Gone so he has a spare. I sent you a PM, get back to me and we'll work something out. Thanks!
