NO Z06 wheels are Magnesium!

don't try to fit anything larger than the stock size (295 35) on oem z06 wheels in the rear of a fbody.

i thought the Z06's were just aluminum
ive seen the "magnesium C5 rims" on a some GM parts site, and yes they are very expensive

True, no factory OEM versions are at least.


They are, they're just painted a unique grey color that often tends to make people think they might be titanium.
The optional titanium LS1 C5 rims are 5 spoke (and stock C5 sized) and more of a bronze color.
You can put as wide as a 315 (the new BFG Drag Radials) on the Z06 18x10.5 but as mentioned above NOT on an F-body with stock rear wheel wells and no spacers, they will rub a little even with the standard 295s on there.

No magnesium wheels are currently offered on the corvettes, but they were an option through 2001.

The magnesium wheels (not aluminum)for the corvettes were manufactured in Italy by Speedline - a division of Amcast corporation.

I think that 2001 was the last year the magnesium wheels were offered, speedline then changed to an aluminum alloy for the 2002 model year.

A very, very expensive option on the vette's - around 2k if I remember right... so I don't think many were sold.
