I second that for the AVON's. They're an excellent tire. I liked them better than the Goodyear tires I had. I recommend em'.

i would suggest sumitomo or how ever you spell it from tomzwheels..... i have them and the ride very smooth and hooks in every gear on the street with 6 speed and 350rwhp with no problems...... some guys dont like them but i do and if your on a budget they are hard to beat

uhh, yeah they do if you choose the ones i told you to get....... i have had some of the best of the best tires ranging from michelin pilots to BFGs and i can say that the HTZs from tomzwheels work great and about 1/4 the price which means i dont feel like an idiot for spending $1,000 on 4 tires at the end of the day..... but if you have the money get the best ones you can find, thats what i will do one day when i have more money

dude i cannot understand why guys dont like the sumitomo? i mean im not trying to say they are the best tires in the world but they are less than $370 shipped with 315s in the back!!!!! can you not drive cause the only reason i wouldnt like a tire is if it dont hook worth a damn or it wears out too fast....... i hear guys saying they cant get a sumitomo to hook with 300-400rwhp cars and its either cause they suck at driving or they......suck at driving! now pep boy specials i will vouch that a cheap tire like that will suck ***...... but i can actually spray a 100shot of nitrous in 1st through 4th gear and have minimal spinnage and also i have them on my street car that has right at 350rwhp and they bite like a nitto drag radial and thats says alot seeing they are "cheap street tires" but oh well some guys dont like them and some do, im just giving you a realistic first hand side to why i think they are a good qaulity low price tire...... dont want to start an argument but i get so tired of hearing guys down this tire since it works so well for me and everyone i have seen run them

hehe na man im serious.... i can get those tires to hook and so can about 10 other guys i know who run them.... but i wasnt trying to start a pissing contest or an argument by that..... just feel that its a highly underated tire...... now i have only ran or know guys that get the wide 17 inch 315 so i have no idea how any other tire size works...... anyways like i say im not looking for a battle on this topic, just speaking my mind on it..... jake

went in today to talk to the guy from the shop, good friend of my dads, and i think kdws are the way to go but hes going to be looking through what else hes got and seeing what he thinks would be good. he mentioned something of yokohama because he went to an event that they basically let you beat the **** out of the tires at the track and he said he was impressed. but i havent heard anyone on here using yokos so im kinda iffy about those...

KDWs are a very good tire no dought...... i might get some one day, i like the tread design and i think they are a tad wider than most 315s......especially nittos! lol

i don't know about the kdw but i can vouch for the kdws... i've abused mine for quite some time now and have plenty of tread left. great stopping power and i don't think you can find a snow rated tire with better dry grip. i can't say there is no wheel spin on my 245 tires but it's minimal and i've not been stuck in a snow storm yet...

plus they're not directional so you can rotate freely though the tread pattern is a little dull

Nah you just got a good deal. Depending on the size you get they can be expensive. I think 275/30/17 would be 300 for two on tirerack.com.

Nexen's are cheap and a good tire....not the best.

I bought two falken 452's for 250....a little better tire than nexen's so i hear.

My buddy tells me the falken azenis aren't bad either

Then you have the people who like sumitomos...not sure i've never used them.

I'd go with the falken's or nexen's, but you can try the sumitomos if u want.

get real??? i said they are close to a nitto 555R and a nitto is a sorry excuse for a drag radial incase you have been under a log for the last 8 years....... nobody even uses the peices of junk around here cause they suck..... i was just saying they were very close to what the feel like when i get in the car and drive up the road...... and no you shouldnt have to do a 10 minute burn out for a drag radial to work..... put a BFG DR on and see if you have to, or a mickey DR.......

Have you looked at the Vredenstein Ultra Sessanta that Tomzwheels sells. Quite a few members are running those now and I think thats what I am going to go with, about $600 for a set of 275/315 in 17 inch. Kind of a different tread pattern but I think they are German. Just search for Vredenstein on the tires/wheel forum.

There is even a post to a video put out by the company showing development and testing, thats what sold me, plus all good comments from forum memeber who are actually using them now!

yea i was thinking of vredisteins but the shop wouldnt install tires that i bought somewhere else...lol also cant really rotate them because of the tread, and this car is a dd in summer and spring and fall so that would be a plus.
