Best size width for 11inch rim?
Best size width for 11inch rim? If I had a 11inch rim, say the zr1's. Whats the best size to fit on them. Im not sure if Id wanna go as high as 315s even tho they would fit fine, but would 295s be alright on them? and look ok not out of place or stretched? Im thinking about picking up zr1s this summer but not sure if I should get 9.5s all around or get 9.5 up front and 11 out back. Im getting a cam next month and still searching for headers this month so Ill have the power for them.
depends a lot on the tire you go with ! nitto run small so a 315 is close to a brg dr's 275 so just look up on the search at other post there a lot of pics out there but i'm going w/ a hoosier 315 dr's on my zr1's though
Well this is the thing, I have a stock rear and don't want to get 315 dr's on the back. But if and when I do change the rear id like to have the option of then going to a bigger tire, like 315. But for now Id like to have a wide rim so I have the option later down the road but also be able to run something like 285-295 or so on the rears that wouldnt be as bad as a 315 DR.

Oh nevermind, was checking into this more. It turns out if I got a 315 which yes would look sick.. if it was a street tire tho it wouldn't hurt the rear just as the 275s or 245s don't hurt the rear with street tires. In that case im going to be looking for some zr1s then..aha

not to change the subject but im in the same boat. just purchased some 17x11 ZR1s and i need tires for them. i want street tires as i have DRs on my other set of wheels. i was looking at the Nittos 315/35/17s for the rear, not the DRs. since they do run smaller than other tires, can i run a wider tire to make up the difference to maybe look like the older BFg KDs in the 315 size?
There is a post with pics of the new Nitto 315/35s 555s, and i think they look great. That would be the way i would go if we didnt already have the DRs. Stock rear breaks, its just more of a reason to go 9".
