itto 315s compared to sumitomo 315s
I have read that the Nittos are the smallest 315 out there but i also heard that the Sumitomos are basically the same width as the nittos!!?!? Anyone know the actual truth behind this?

tirerack shows the size of the sumitomos, nitto's web site shows theirs.

I've seen both in person. They're both kind of skinny. Nitto's are ridiculously skinny though. My 315 BFG drag radials are a little wider than Sumi's. I had Nitto's on my old car (245 width on the rear) with 245 width BFG's up front and it looked awfully weird. My Nitto's on the rear were noticeably narrower than the BFGs up front.

so how do these compare in all aspects? traction, treadwear, wet/dry, cornering etc....my nittos on the rear are near the end of their life, my dad says they are dangerous haha. i cant decide if i want to get two more nittos or go another direction? what do two sumitomo 315's run?

You can get two 315 sumis for less than 200bucks and they are a great dd tire. ]
However they are not a track tire and will not grip as good as a nitto.
If this is for a set of rims that will be in the care 24/7....get the sumis. If this is for a set of rims that will be on the tire only at the track......get the nittos.
Nittos and BFGs are not worth the price to just wear them down with normal driving. But to each his own.

I just put nitto 555 extreme 315s on my car.Replaced the sumitomos, the sumitomos rarely rubbed. The nittos rub every time I go around a corner. So if the nittos are not wider there is something very strange going on.These are not the drag radials
