315/35/17 Hoosiers vs BFG vs MT for STREET DRIVEN CARS
I'm in a bind and need tires asap..... haven't seen TOO much info on the Hoosiers and would like some more input. From what i gather:
Hook:
Hoosiers>MTs>BFGs
Corners:
BFGs>MTs>>Hoosiers
Longevity:
BFGs>>MTs>>>>>Hoosiers
my car is driven a lot on the street. NOT a DD, but definitely not a garage queen. i've been on BFGs for a while and i like them. however, hoosiers are the only thing available right now. for those who HAVE HAD hoosiers and drive them on the street, please enlighten me a bit!

Well I drove my friend Z28 with Hoosier 275 45 16 and the car hooks awesome with from 25-30roll with 500+rwhp but the car feels little weird I dont know how to expline it.
BFG Like you said will not hook like Hoosier and MT.
MT is an awesome tire (if you can find that size) Mighty mouse drove the car to 9.0@155mph with tires and DD the car too.
Here is a vid of 25mph roll with 500+rwhp Procahrged Z28 I'm sure your car have more power but just giving you an idea.

Holly crap that vid is awesome.
as for the tires, my friend had some BFG and the best 60ft he cut was like a 1.7xx, but it was hard. and he's got strano shocks and drag bags. he could spin them pretty easy on the road, and his car is a cam only T-Rex. BUT they were MUCH better than any street tire.

I've had both the MTs and Hoosiers, friend had BFGs. You're right on all your comparison scales. This is how I look at it, all of them suck in the rain. People say BFGs are ok in the rain, yeah that friend of mine has nearly died twice hydroplaning and 360'ing down the highway! So...since wet traction is not an issue AT ALL I'd go with the hoosiers. With my last car (99 z28, 440 rwhp auto car) I could get the hoosiers to deadhook on the street after just highway driving them to get them up to temperature. I know it'd be a lot different on your car, but considering you're a M6, you'd benefit from the softer sidewall of the hoosier DR. Plus, they look sick and they're really not that much of a different 'feel' than MTs (comparing the 315/35/17 Hoosiers to 255/50/16 MTs). Booth hooked at the track, hoosiers hooked with less 'warming' (last a little longer at the track due to this). On the street, they'd probably wear out quicker than the MTs.
Depending on how much of a hurry you're in, Trust (on this board) - a local guy (to me) has a D1 396 auto car (700ish rwhp) that will be tuned/running this Friday and has some hoosier 335s on order. I'm sure he'll be terrorizing OKC this weekend and I'm sure he'd be happy to give some input on how his car does on those tires.

I'll also be DD'ing the car for a week or so, then I'll have a good idea of how it feels on the street just driving.

I did the exact same thing after waiting 2 months for my MT's. First they said that they would ship at the beginning of June, then the beginning of July, and the last time I checked they said sometime in the 3rd quarter, so I said screw it, ordered Hoosiers on a Thursday, got them on a Monday.

not to hijack at all but, those of you guys running these MT or hoosier DR's, what size wheels do you have 16,17.....what times do you run on the track?
I was just wondering if people ran 10,11, low 12's on drag radials and a wheel bigger than 15......?

lets see a pic of those hoosiers
i have one set of mt's on the car and one back up set. after that i will have to pick between the bfg (dont like em all ready) and the hoosiers (never tried) unless mt gets its act together.
i have been a 1.38 on the 17" mt's, another guy on here did a 1.40 (great track)
with an ok track i can consistantly get low 1.5's as in this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCb0vLo-N7E
i go slow as i need to in the rain with complete disreguard to speed limit or traffic speed. i do what it takes to get home.
the mt's and bfg's are not terrible in the rain when brand new, but all bets are off once they start to wear.

^ I'm glad to hear that, now I don't have to worry so much about buying drag wheels. MIGHTYMOUSE, what wheels and what size wheel/tire do u run on your 9 second beast?
I'm looking at ccw's classics or TT2's for my soon to be 10sec camaro- yes I know they're on opposite ends of the spectrum

i have been running Iforged Seneka wheels, the rears are 17*10 on the inside of the lip. The fronts are 8 wide and have 245's on em to save weight.
this set is actually for sale, I am ordering some new wheels tomorrow. they do NOT come with the mt back tires

Lets put it this way, I got stuck in the rain on the hoosier 315s on my 99 z, yeah well I was completely ***** footing it and any standing water on the road would make the rear feel loosey goosey and it'd throw the low trac light at me. That was going 20 mph Theres nothing to these tires....trust, hope you don't mind me showing off your giant meats...
