Yeah there's tons and tons of info on this site and the net about tire failure and WHY 315 is too big for a 9" wheel. Basically the tire's ability to seal with the wheel is compromised because the sidewalls pull away from the rim. Blowout during hard cornering is the most common failure, but far worse has happened, especially if you are doing upwards of 100mph when it happens.
Read up on common tire failures, then decide for yourself whether or not you are comfortable with those possibilities, then do what you want.

What I'm asking is does anyone have any 1st hand experience with 315's on a stock width SS rim failing? And if so what failed? Was it sidewall damage? Slipped on the rim or what? i wasn't looking for smart *** comments i was trying to find out why we shouldn't do it. Instead of everyone saying "don't do it " tell me why. I have been doing it for years and i know a lot of other guys who do all with no problems. Oh and they do look cool LOL

tecnically speaking you can go 2 in from each side of the rim.. AS A MAXIMUM FIT... not saying its smart. but mine didnt bulge and from the back and side it looked badass and gripped better than anything.. took them a week to get one of the tires on a rim bc of the lip on my SS rim tho...
