Need help with wheel stud removal... please! Guys... I have had a hell of a time trying to remove this stripped stud!!! I hammer, hammer, hammer and NOTHING! Now Im starting to really damage the stud so much that the end may not fit through the damn hole in the hub!! Besides, Im sure all that hammering doesn't do the hub any good. Does anyone have any helpful hints here? Please! Cut it? Heat it? What? Im in a jam.

Might have to drill it out if its that bad. Hammering it out always worked for me. Try spraying some WD40 on it maybe.

Re: Need help with wheel stud removal... please! Bigger hammer. A regular carpenters hammer will not work. Use a sledge hammer. Try adding a little heat. I think drilling will damage the groves that hold the stud in place.
Re: Need help with wheel stud removal... please! I have used a regular hammer b4, but they knock right out with a big sledge. Worst case scenario you can pull the hub and use a press.
Re: Need help with wheel stud removal... please! Heat the base of the stud with a propane torch. Shove a candle onto the base of the stud and melt candlewax all the way around it. Let it cool for a bit and hit it with a 3lb sledge. Heat and molten wax should help break free any corrosion.
Re: Need help with wheel stud removal... please! I used PB blaster and a small sledge (like 3lb) to get mine off. Took like 5 hits after I let it soak for a good 30 mins. This was a 66k mile car.
