SJM makes some good points about driving drag setups on the street. Personally, I love the drag setup better on the street. But obviously it requires a change in driving habits and style. For those who drive their drag setups on the street; how do you like it and what are your impressions?

I've never had an issue with it and have been doing it for 15+ years (yeah I'm that old!) Obviously a radial sidewall tire will handle MUCH better than a bias ply. Back in the day I used to drive my Mustang with draglites on frequent 800 mile road trips(with street tires of course). I've had several sets of Bogarts and done minimal driving on all of them with no problems(weekends, car shows,etc.). I do run a 8 ply bias street tire up front and am very aware of potholes, etc. Normal driving I dont see a difference BUT I dont do corners or high speed lane changes either!

i daily drove my prostar setup with drag radials for about 2 years and never had any issues at all. took them on multiple 500 trips and never had an issue. ive never been a corner junky so didnt mind not having the car handle and i just was careful about pot holes and what not.

i wont daily the holeshots i have now cause they are WAY too light and way to expensive for me to risk bending one on a pothole. not to mention the 28x1050 ET Drags mixed with radial fronts make the car handle a little funny. its livable but i dont really like it. i need to get some bias fronts when i get some cash

im a pic ***** with my car so heres a couple more

i gotta get some more pics cause it looks way better with the big tires on now (tires in pics are 28x9) and the emblems and side molding removed

I had Prostars on for awhile and LOVED them. The car rode better and smoother than with 17s. I took it easy on the curves and braking but even drove it in pouring rain and never a prob. I had MT DRs on rear and the VW tires on front. Car even got better MPG due to it being lighter and a taller tire over the heavy ZR1s.

I run custom Holeshot Sunstars (they do not have a relief machined out of the center of the spoke like the regular Sunstars to look more like an old "window style" racing wheel while they also have stainless fasteners instead of the standard Grade 8's) .

The fronts are 15"x4" with a 2 7/8" b.s. while the rears are a 15"x10" with a 4.5" b.s.
