nail in tire...what would you do?

Default nail in tire...what would you do?

It's in a nitto drag radial, will i be safe patching this?

I sure hope it's not big deal if i patch it

I would go ahead and patch it. With a patch and not a plug. Plugs have always worked for me but i only use them on tires that arn't worth paying to have patched or if im in a bind and need it fix right then. I seen on here guys were patching slicks so i don't think nittos would be any problem at all.

Discount tire does flats for free. The can do a plug patch combo. Thats the best way. I was a tire tech for a year.

I would go to a firestone dealer because they actually have a plug and patch all in one. I worked at a firestone store for 3 years and we never had anyone come back with one of those repairs.

be careful with this, some guys are lazy and will just plug a tire when it should be patched-happened to me.

a p[lug/patch combo would be your best bet as the other guys said. the insert will wear with the tread as it wears down.

OP-Most tire shops will refuse to patch Z rated tires, so keep that in mind when going price shopping. I have had a bolt three times the size of that nail go through one of my tires. I got the plug/patch combo. If they know what they are doing just get it done and not think twice about it.
